Underground Catholicism is a lay apostolate dedicated to teaching Catholics how to explain and defend their Catholic faith (1 Pet 3:15). We provide a Biblical foundation and establish the structure built by the Apostles and Early Church Fathers. It's our goal to prepare young adults to effectively engage society throughout their lives, and to prepare all Catholics to discuss their faith with reason and logic.
There are two
primary reasons:
1) Prevent Catholics from being lured by false teachings. Other religions prey
on Catholics because we don't know our faith and are easily converted.
2) Enabling Catholics to be a shining light (Matthew 5:16) in a world of darkness,
attracting others to the mystical body of Christ in the Catholic Church.
"Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in love in a quite absolute and final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love. Stay in love. And it will decide everything!"
Our
worst fear is not that we are inadequate
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing it small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some of us. It is in every one of us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
