Casting out deamons by deamons...

Here are some footnotes from the Navarre Bible that put this into perspective:

Matthew 12:22 "Jesus rejects the Pharisees' malicious accusation by pointing out that his casting out of demons proves that the Kingdom of God has begun and that Satan is being ousted from his domains...Either one is with Him or with the devil. Such an absolute requirement made by Christ only goes to show his divinity."

Mark 3:20 "...Jesus explains the inherent contradiction in th scribes' accusation....Jesus...warns that it will be very difficult for people to gain forgiveness if they voluntarily close their minds to the truth."

Luke 11:14 "Jesus' enemies now come up with a very serious accusation: it is the devil who is working through him, Jesus. He refutes the accusation, at the same time warning them all of its gravity. Then, he draws a comparison to point out the danger they are in: by God's action towards his people they have been set free from the power of evil but their obstinate rejection of God's action at work through Christ has turned them into a place where the evil one can operate unhindered.
